She tried to call a god of the sun, Surya, and had a baby. But she was afraid to be known by her father so she through the baby to the river.

Goddess Ganga and King Shantanu.
Shantanu had 8 babies between him and Ganga. But this goddess through out the babies as soon as they were born. This was because she wanted to help exiled soul through making their life again to this world, but Shantanu didn't know about it. So Shantanu finally stop her to abandon their baby anymore when they have the eighth baby. Then Ganga has gone. The eighth baby became the great Bhisma. Bhisma is the one who were respected by both all the Kuru family and the Pandhu family.
Bhisma wanted to stop the war between 2 families but failed. Then war started.
When Bhisma died in this war, at that moment, all the soldiers put down their weapons and pray for Bhisma.
We are not going to this war part in our first version of Mahabharata project.

Shakuni, performed by Sachiko.
King Pandhu has his elder brother, Dhritarastra, the blind king. Shakuni was a brother in law of Dhritarastra.
After Pandhu died, Dhritarastra tried to stop the fight between Kuru brothers and Pandawa brothers but he couldn't make it. His son Druyodhana with Shakuni and Karna had a plan to make a trap to push Pandawa away from kingdom. Dhritarastra knew about this but he couldn't stop his own son. Then Pandawa had to leave their kingdom and started 14 years of exile.

Mahabharata includes many fascinating episodes!
We don't have further plan to perform this first version of Mahabharata in the future yet.
Please come to see our performance in Phnom Penh on July 12 and 13, or in Hanoi on July 16!!!
